Your local Department of Motor Vehicles now has applications available for the UNC Charlotte collegiate license plate. You can have a randomly assigned number-or choose to have yours personalized! It's only $25 a year for a regular plate, $45 for a personalized one.

The Alumni Association looks forward to seeing more 49er license plates. North Carolina residents wishing to show their 49er pride should contact the DMV or the UNC Charlotte Alumni Affairs Office for an application form.

The Alumni Association promotes this specialized plate for alumni, students, and friends. The DMV statute stipulates that $15 of the $25 fee will be returned to the University for academic use. To date, over $100,000 has been contributed to the Alumni Association Scholarship endowment, providing scholarships (up to $2500) to students at UNC Charlotte.
